While the IW322801 variant itself is modern, its DNA reaches back to the 1970s, when IWC entrusted the redesign of the Ingenieur line to legendary designer Gérald Genta.

It was Genta who gave this model its distinctive, technical aesthetic – the integrated bracelet, industrial bezel with visible screws, and characteristic dial structure. Today’s IW322801 deliberately references his iconic 1976 Ingenieur SL design, preserving its proportions and styling while complementing them with modern ergonomics and mechanics.
