Mid-May is approaching, and with it comes the wedding season. It’s an important day, full of emotions and preparations, where every detail matters. An elegant watch can be a perfect accessory for the wedding attire or an exceptional gift – for the groom, father, or best man. We’ve prepared several suggestions that we believe are perfect for this occasion. The main theme will be elegant watches with leather straps and thin cases that will perfectly hide under a suit cuff.

Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionelle 87172

Patrimony is the most classic line of timepieces from the Geneva manufacture. This watch is a very elegant choice, but its design includes several details that make it stand out among other “dress watches”. The small seconds, unusually placed at 9 o’clock, is segmented in a “railroad track” pattern, which gets its name from its resemblance to train tracks. The same pattern is visible on the dial’s periphery, which, besides being an interesting decoration, makes the watch very legible. The case is crafted from white gold, as are the hands and dial indices. Through the transparent caseback, you can see the beautifully decorated automatic movement. With a case height barely exceeding 8mm and a diameter of 38mm, the watch will have a good presence on the wrist while still fitting under a shirt cuff, let alone a suit jacket.

Patek Philippe Calatrava 5032

For many, the Calatrava is the most perfect dress watch, and looking at the image of this model 5032, it’s hard to disagree. The watch is very minimalist in its functions – it only has two hands and no date window, giving the dial perfect symmetry and elegance. Yet it doesn’t lack character. The case is made of 18-karat yellow gold, as are the indices and hands. However, the most distinctive element is its dial, in a rare shade of grey, which creates an unexpected but perfect combination with yellow gold. The original Patek Philippe strap is made of alligator leather, and its brown shade will complement the very popular wedding combination of a navy suit with brown belt and shoes. The strap buckle is an original Patek Philippe clasp, also made of gold.

Franck Muller Casablanca 2852 S6

The typical Franck Muller “tonneau” case is an interesting alternative to round watches and will work just as well for wedding occasions. The elegant hour hands and small seconds at the hour make the watch more formal, while the beautifully guilloche dial provides a perfect background. Its formality is slightly offset by the brand’s characteristic painted indices. The case and original Franck Muller buckle are made of 18-karat gold.

An interesting, limited availability proposal from JLC, and the first steel watch in our lineup. This watch was previously described on our blog in the latest deliveries post, which you can read here. We also encourage you to follow our delivery posts – every week around Friday we publish a post featuring 5 of the most interesting watches from each week. The watch stands out primarily for its dial color, which is reserved for this specific model, limited in sales to Jaeger-LeCoultre boutiques. Its additional advantage is the GMT function, operated via a button above the crown and visible on the second side of the dial – this watch comes from the Duoface line and features two independently operating dials. Thanks to this functionality, the watch will also work well for a “destination wedding” – one dial can be set to Polish time and the other to the time at the celebration location 🙂

Let’s return to precious metals. This time a proposal from a brand considered by many to be the true king of watchmaking – Breguet. The watch dial is divided into several segments, each finished in a different style. The most striking is the center of the dial, with a very interesting geometric pattern that gives it three-dimensionality. The watch wouldn’t be a Breguet without several characteristics typical of the brand – in this case, these are the hands and case sides. Through the transparent caseback, you can see the elegantly decorated manual-wind movement.

The final proposal is a watch from Cartier’s Privée collection – which uses the rarest materials and features the highest level of finishing. This piece is no exception – the case is made of platinum, and the crown is decorated with a genuine sapphire. The dial is finished in two ways – through guilloche and brushing. Through the transparent caseback, you can see the beautifully decorated MC430 movement, based on a Piaget caliber. Due to its dimensions – just under 34mm in diameter and only 6.6mm in height, the watch will easily fit under even the narrowest cuff. It’s also an excellent unisex proposition.
